Rosh Sillars specializes in food photography for media, restaurants, advertising agencies, corporations and specialty food companies.
Rosh works on location and at his studio Octane Photographic in Ferndale Michigan (One mile north of Detroit). The studio kitchen is complete with a gas stove, refrigerator and freezer. Rosh uses trusted stylists when required. He does style images in collaboration with professionals such as creative directors, restaurant staff and corporate chefs.
Rosh has experience photographing seafood, desserts, grand dinners, catalog food images, specialty drinks, Mexican food, package items, sandwiches, appetizers, soups and salads.

Rosh Sillars is a well established photographer. He has regularly contributed as a staff and free-lance photographer for agencies and media. He was a staff photographer for the Journal Register Company Michigan daily papers. He was the photographic editor for the Metro Detroit-based Town Magazine and Toledo-based Ourtown Magazine.

Rosh served 15 years as the photojournalism instructor for Wayne State University, Detroit Michigan and the digital photography instructor at University of Detroit Mercy for eight years. He wrote a photography column for the publication 24/7, published by Journal Register Company (Daily Tribune). He is the author of four books on photography and digital marketing. Rosh also serves on the board and is a past president of the American Society of Media Photographers – Michigan Chapter.
Although Rosh is known for his food photography work, he has photographed presidents, pro and amateur athletes, pop stars and local heroes through his 30 year professional career. He has earned numerous awards and accolades for his photography. Sillars was named Michigan Meetings and Events Magazine “best of” event photographer.
